Babler Park in Wildwood was included in the new, the first day hikes

This new year’s Eve, one can tell others to “take a hike” and mean it in a way that is very positive and encouraging. 

Some local residents will celebrate the beginning of 2012 by participating in America’s first State Parks day hike in one of the nine State Park, Missouri, and one of the many parks based in Wildwood was selected as one of them. Free, guided hike offers individuals and families the opportunity to start the new year out with the take connecting with healthy and rejuvenating climb 1 January.

“We’re excited to host first day hikes in the Park of the State of Missouri as part of national effort to get people out of the room and go into our garden. The increase in offers great ways to exercise, enjoy nature and welcome the new year with friends and family, “said Bill Bryan, Director of the Missouri State Parks, a division of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, in a press release.

The nine Missouri state parks, including one in Wildwood, will offer a guided hike in ranging from January 1, half a mile to three miles:

First day hikes from more than 20 years ago at the Blue Hills reservation, a state park in Milton, MA, according to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources details. The Program was launched to promote a healthy lifestyle both year-round and recreation all year round in state parks. While many countries offer recreation in nature is open on new year’s day, this is the first time all 50 state parks system have joined together to sponsor first day hikes.
