NEW YORK (AP)-mother of three young girls who died during the Christmas morning fire delivered a speech heartbreaking to “his tribe girls” on their grim cemetery in New York City on Thursday.
“My girls are in my heart,” Madonna Badger says more than 500 mourners at St. Thomas Church in Manhattan. “They are here. And that is where they live now. “
Badger was damaged several times as he described each girl in turn-Lily, 9, and 7-year-old twins Sarah and grace later blindness when he followed their coffins from the vast Gothic church. He was accompanied by her husband alienated, Matthew Badger.
Badger mourners said, “in all of the loss of intelligibility and chaos, all I can hang onto is that love is everything.”
Listed are the 18 firefighters from Stamford, Connecticut, who responded to the fire. Among the more than 500 people attending the service in New York City’s fashion designer Calvin Klein and Vera Wang, rocker Lou Reed and actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
