The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning East of Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and the Dakotas. This warning applies until sunset on Saturday when the wind is expected to subside.
In the Colorado Plateau, East of Interstate 77 from the State of Nebraska Denver closed to all vehicles, including a high-profile sports utility vehicle and a trailer, the State Department of transportation said.
There is almost zero visibility on Interstate 80 South of Nebraska wind and rain, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
Blowing and drifting snow in the mountains and swirling dust in the eastern plains of Colorado would make it difficult for the driver’s trip, said Jim Kalina, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Boulder, Colorado.
